Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Do Cadbury provide Vending Machines?
Technically no. Cadbury no longer own a machine fleet, however we have a network of preferred suppliers that cover the UK that provide a machine, branded Cadbury and with category layout advise.
  2. What options are available to me?
Self fill, machine provision only or a fully operated service
  3. What is self fill?
The client has a machine delivered to site and then orders stock from their usual supplier and replenishes the machine themselves and manages the cash box
  4. What is an operated service?
The client has a fully managed service supplied by a preferred Cadbury partner. This means that stock, machine, maintenance and cash box are managed by the operator and not by the client.
  5. How do I have my machine maintained?
On delivery of your machine a full maintenance package will be provided by your machine provider or operator
  6. Do I have to order stock directly through Cadbury?
No, following your machine installation, should you be a self fill site, you will continue ordering through your usual supply route, your operator will provide your stock if you are an operated service
  7. Why do Cadbury no longer have vending machines?
Cadbury remains firmly committed to vending and will continue to compete strongly for space in vending machines across the UK. We feel, however, that our strengths lie in the manufacture and sale of confectionery rather than running dedicated vending machines.
  8. Is Cadbury withdrawing from vending completely?
No we remain firmly committed to the vending sector – we simply want to concentrate on what we do best which is manufacturing and selling confectionery. That applies to vending machines as much as it does to any corner shop or supermarket
  9. Why are you withdrawing from vending machines?
We carried out a review of our vending operation and decided that we were best placed to supply products for vending machines owned by others rather than run our own dedicated machines. It makes far greater commercial sense.
  10. Are you withdrawing because of the restrictions on vending machines in schools and the move to encourage 'healthy eating'?
No, this has nothing whatsoever to do with this. We had already voluntarily taken steps to remove our vending machines from schools before the legislation. This is purely about concentrating on our strengths.
  11. Will you retain any involvement in the vending industry itself?
Yes, we will have a dedicated vending support team which will be responsible for liaising with operators, wholesalers, customers and trade bodies such as the AVA.
